Introduction
This data browse service combines the Ensembl ContigView with the Distributed Annotation System (DAS) data,
available here, to visualize the Putative Quadruplex Sequences (PQS) predicted in the genome.
Usage
Simply select the species of interest, the choromsome, and type in the chromosome location. After pressing the 'Submit' button,
you will be redirected to the ContigView page, centered on chromosome location specified. This is particularly useful if the
region of interest is not located near a gene.
For PQS viewing near a gene region, you may use our data search to locate a gene of interest. At
the result page, simply click on 'View' to be redirected to the Ensembl ContigView, centered on the gene. The resulting ContigView
is identical to that you find in this page. The data search feature is useful if you do want to view the PQS near a gene of
interest.
Results
The results are displayed in the Ensemble ContigView graph, along with various options. Help on how to use ContigView
is available here. Below is a screenshot of
ContigView centered on the genomic location near the C-MYC oncogene (in Human Chromomosome 8, at location 128816862).
Highlighted in the sreenshot is the 'Quadruplex' row where each vertical red line represent a PQS predicted. If this 'Quardruplex' row
is not being displayed, it means that there is no PQS predicted in the location shown (a ContigView feature
that hides any row that does not have data to be displayed, for clarity purposes).
